Zeetta Networks Wins £10,000 in ENGIE’s Innovation ‘Big Pitch’ competition

20th June 2019: ENGIE has chosen Zeetta Networks as the winner of the 2019 Big Pitch competition, with the company receiving a £10,000 prize.

The award, made on Wednesday 19th June at Newcastle University’s Helix Urban Sciences Building, was the culmination of ENGIE UK’s Innovation Showcase event. The event is part of ENGIE’s annual Innovation Week programme, a global initiative by the ENGIE Group involving 130-plus activities around the world.
The winning business was one of five companies who made it through to the final of the Big Pitch Competition, with a theme this year of ‘Connected Places’.

Zeetta Networks’ pitch focused on customising connectivity to remove complexity in digital networks across buildings and communities. Their technology allows users to define services and then programme a bespoke network to deliver them, driving operational savings.

In addition to being awarded £10,000, Zeetta Networks will now have the opportunity to develop a proof of concept with ENGIE’s UK business, and work together to find the most productive application of their technology.

Ian Teasdale – VP Sales & Marketing at Zeetta Networks said:
“Zeetta Networks is delighted to win ENGIE’s Innovation ‘Big Pitch’. The competition was exceptionally strong. Zeetta’s concept of a ‘Network for Life’, the ability to deploy a network that changes and morphs through the various stages of a regeneration project, obviously resonated with the judging panel. We’re looking forward to working with ENGIE on a proof-of-concept that delivers operational savings and enables new services ”

Nicola Lovett, CEO ENGIE UK & Ireland, said:
“Innovation is a fundamental part of our business. We are always looking to source and develop new ideas and collaborations between our teams with start-ups and SME’s like Zeetta Networks are becoming increasingly important to help us to deliver innovative services and sustainable solutions for our customers.”The UK big pitch competition has once again brought out the best in innovation. The winning pitch offered a technology that could transform the way we manage buildings and communities. Congratulations to Ian Teasdale and Zeetta Networks.

The event was supported by keynote speeches from Steve Caughey, Director of the National Innovation Centre for Data and Estelle Blanks, Executive Director of Innovation SuperNetwork, North East

About Zeetta Networks

Zeetta Networks enables smarter networks. The company leads the development of open, programmable networks based on an advanced, patent-protected software controller called NetOS ® that provides full network visibility, control, and management through a single-pane-of-glass.

NetOS ® enables network splicing ® of any combination of network technologies (Fixed, Wireless and low-power IoT) to create a single virtualised network topology that can be then sliced into network slices(sub-networks) on-demand to meet specific user or application requirements. The ability to dynamically slice and splice the network resources across wireless and fixed technologies is protected by the company’s patents.

Zeetta Networks commercially deployed NetOS ® in several enterprise projects across Europe and successfully demonstrated 5G Network Slicing in early 5G testbeds like the 5G Smart Tourism and 5GRural First projects. NetOS ® allows enterprises and service providers to control their fixed and wireless networks seamlessly, driving operational efficiencies and creating new monetisation opportunities. With the additional of NetOS Rapide, Zeetta Networks has extended its NetOS ® product portfolio to support the creation and control of temporary or deployable networks.
