About Zeetta Networks
Zeetta Networks is a network automation company that delivers digital transformation with intelligence and automation.
The company was formed in 2015 as a spin-out from the University of Bristol’s High-Performance Networking group. The company expanded it’s expertise with a series of senior hires from industry including successful start-ups and scale-ups. There are currently 25 full-time employees.
Zeetta Networks developed NetOS®, it’s network control and management platform for enterprises and managed service providers (MSPs) in 2016 and the enterprise solution, NetOS Enterprise™, was deployed in Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium in 2018.
In 2019 Zeetta Networks launched it’s temporary network solution, NetOS Rapide™, which has been used successfully at sports events, major festivals and most recently to support IoT air-quality monitoring in schools.
Zeetta Networks is active in a number of industry bodies including the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) and Facebook’s Telecoms Infrastructure Project (TIP).
Zeetta Networks was actively involved in the UK Government’s DCMS Trials and Testbeds programme where it used NetOS capabilities to deliver 5G network slicing in the 5G RuralFirst and 5G Smart Tourism projects.
As an industry thought leader Zeetta Networks has been recognised by a number of industry bodies through their awards programmes including the GSMA’s Global Mobile (GloMO) Awards, TMF’s Excellence Awards and the 5G World Awards.
In 2019 Zeetta Networks was recognised as a “Gartner Cool Vendor” for Communications Service Provider Network Operations.
Zeetta Networks Management
Zeetta Networks has a strong management team with leadership from blue-chip telecommunications and software companies as well as academia. The senior leadership team have a broad experience gained in successful start-ups and scale-ups and are using that experience to take Zeetta Networks to a successful exit.
CEO and Co-Founder
Vassilis Seferedis has over 25 years’ experience in Telecoms and Electronics.
Previously, Vassilis was VP of Business Development for Samsung Electronics responsible for driving revenue growth and strategic development in Europe. He also held positions at BT, Toshiba, Philips, QIO Systems and British Standards Institute.
In 2011 he was included in the Euro50 list of the 50 most influential people in the European telecommunications industry.
His academic qualifications include BSc in Physics, MSc in Telecommunications, PhD in Electronic Systems Engineering and an MBA.
Vassilis loves American sitcoms with a particular soft spot for Futurama and Frasier.
Simon Pearcey is an experienced senior leader with over 28 years of Telecommunications expertise.
He started his career with Marconi’s Research Centre, and most recently he was head of all R&D staff across the UK for Amdocs’ Open Network division, with product line leadership across a global team. Along the way Simon has worked for AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Cisco, and successful start-ups including Aethos, IPWireless and Ubiquisys.
He has a successful track record of building high-performance teams, fostering innovation and delivering products into commercial acceptance.
Simon holds a BSc (hons) in Computer Science from the University of Essex.
VP Sales & Marketing
Ian Teasdale has been active in the hi-tech industry for over 25 years, starting with the SAGEM Group in France and progressing through major manufacturers such as Alcatel-Lucent and TE Connectivity.
His roles have been largely commercial with specific focus on opening new markets and building relationships with global accounts in telecommunications carriers and major enterprises.
Ian was one of the early members of the Vodafone Global Account team in Alcatel-Lucent which grew to be a key supplier to the Group.
When he has the chance, Ian can be found looking for a new mountain to climb up.
Director of Product Management
Joan Garcia Espín is experienced in telecommunications and software engineering with passion for productisation of novel networking technologies.
He has worked in R&D and innovation for over 17 years in top international projects on networks of the future.
Joan has also worked for the i2CAT Research Centre and Scytl in Barcelona and the Bristol Is Open smart city initiative before joining Zeetta.
Joan has an MSc in Telematics Engineering and a Master in Business Innovation and collaborates with the University of Bristol to mentor students as part of their entrepreneurship program.
Director of Marketing
Justin Paul is Zeetta Networks’ Marketing Director. He is repsonsible for Zeetta’s Digital Platforms, Lead Generation and Events.
He previously worked for Amdocs and Huawei in NFV/SDN marketing leadership roles and was Head of Products for UK TETRA Network – Airwave.
Working for Nicola Sturgeon’s Digital Directorate in Scottish Government, he ran an innovation programme that brought mobile coverage to the remote island of Coll for the first time.
He was awarded his post-graduate diploma in marketing in 2001.
At university he was president of the Winnie-the-Pooh Society.
Director of HR & Business Services
Louise Brennan is well placed to deliver HR and Business Services within Zeetta Networks.
She previously worked at BT for over 23 years, responsible for managing one of BT’s largest international trading teams operating a 24-hour global service.
With a successful track record developing teams, Louise has the natural ability to work alongside people so they achieve their maximum potential while introducing processes and structure to ensure operational excellence.
One of Louise’s greatest achievements was when she quickly reorganised and re-energised an SME on the brink of failure, transforming it into a successful and profitable organisation.

Co-founder & Advisory Board Member
Dimitra Simeonidou is a Full Professor at the University of Bristol, Co-Director of Bristol Digital Futures Institute and Director of the Smart Internet Lab.
Her research is focused on high-performance and programmable networks, wireless-optical convergence, 5G and smart cities.
She is passionate about digital transformation for society and business. Dimitra was formerly CTO of Bristol-Is-Open and is currently leading the Bristol 5G urban pilots.
She has authored and co-authored over 500 publications, numerous patents and contributed to standards.
She co-founded two spin-out companies.
Dimitra is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and a Royal Society Wolfson Scholar.

Reza Nejabati is currently a full professor and head of High Performance Network Group in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in University of Bristol.
He has established successful and internationally recognized research activities in University of Bristol on “Software Defined Network”, “Network Virtualisation” and “Quantum Secured Networking”.
Under his leadership, these research activities have been transformational and have done major contributions in open, programmable and quantum secured Telecom Infrastructure.
His research received the prestigious IEEE Charles Kao Award 2016. He has contributed to more than 300 peer-reviewed papers and several standardisation documents.
Advisory Board Member
Dr. Dan Pitt is President of Palo Alto Innovation Advisors, serving technology companies on four continents.
A leader of the SDN movement, he served as Senior VP of MEF and the original Executive Director of ONF, along with prior executive roles at Nortel and Bay Networks, as Dean of Engineering at Santa Clara University in Silicon Valley, and at IBM Research Zurich and HP Labs Palo Alto.
His elevation to IEEE Fellow was for his leadership of SDN.
He is proud to have spent so much time in Bristol that he can no longer donate blood in the U.S.

Oliver Bosshard is COO of expert telecom advisory firm Real Wireless and holds an MSc in Telecoms and an MBA.
Previously he managed network design, project and rollout teams for MNOs in Switzerland, France, the Caribbean and Africa before joining CommScope as the UK Country Manager for special RF solutions.
His career includes being the CTO of WISP Luminet, where he lead the first commercial spectrum trade between UK companies, as well as Product Director at mmWave manufacturer Bluwan where his product concept won multiple industry awards.
He has three nationalities, speaks 5 languages and enjoys nature adventures including travelling down the Amazon in a dugout canoe.

Cool Vendor™ for CSP Network Operations
In May 2019 Zeetta Networks was recognised by global analyst firm Gartner as a Cool Vendor for the company’s achievements in network automation and 5G network slicing and splicing.
Orange Fab Accelerator Programme 2019
In April 2019, Zeetta Networks was inducted into Season 8 of the Orange Fab Accelerator programme, the only UK company in the cohort.

Winner - ENGIE UK&I Innovation 2019
In June 2019, Zeetta Networks won the £10,000 prize in ENGIE UK & Ireland’s “Big Pitch” competition against 32 other leading technology companies for it’s “Network-for-Life” concept using NetOS® in a major urban regeneration project.

In September 2019, Zeetta Networks won am achievement award for it’s work on 5G-enabled Smart Tourism.

Global Mobile Award Shortlist 2019
In February 2019, Zeetta Networks was shortlisted for Best Network Software Breakthrough, for it’s work on Blockchain based Carrier Marketplace technology.
Zeetta Networks had worked with Colt Technology to develop a “circle-of-trust”to enable automated provisioning of networks.

Leading Contribution to 5G-REPLICATE project
Zeetta Networks was a leading contributor the the EU Horizon 2020 5G-REPLICATE project.
The REPLICATE project is a smart-city internet-of-things project focused on energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and integrated ICT infrastructures. Zeetta Networks used NetOS® for control and management of the IoT networks.
Leading Contribution to 5G-PICTURE project
Zeetta Networks was a leading contributor to the EU Horizon 2020 5G-PICTURE project.
The PICTURE project uses programmable infrastructure to control fronthaul and backhaul in smart cities, transportation and stadia. Zeetta Networks used NetOS® for control and management of infrastructure including at Ashton Gate Stadium.
