A smart city operating system
The ever-changing priorities for connectivity in a smart city, require an ‘Operating System’ that provides a programmable software platform where network services are delivered ‘on-demand’ across the city as required.
With its integrated network orchestration and automation capabilities, NetOS® is an ideal platform to manage the complexity of such smart city networks through a single-pane-of-glass dashboard.

The connectivity challenge
Smart-cities require many sub-systems to work together and maintain a wide range of services from CCTV systems to public Wi-Fi and air-quality monitoring. Efficient control and management of those networks is essential to deliver the expected benefits.
Zeetta’s network orchestration and automation products can help. They enable a simple yet effective management of mixed smart city networks that combine different technologies and vendors.
Bristol Is Open
‘Bristol Is Open’ is an award-winning Smart City project that required a network control and management platform that allowed simplified network operations and programmability to enable smart city experimentation.
NetOS® had to support multiple technologies including optical and packet switches, Wi-Fi and a city-wide IoT network.
Flexibility was key for Bristol-is-Open, in order to set-up and tear-down city-wide experiments that required repurposing the whole network according to the demands of the applications as explained in this video.
