5G-METROHAUL Project Overview

5G-METROHAUL is a  €7.78m EU funded project to investigate cost-efficient optical metro networks to meet the challenges of 5G backhaul.

The project consists of 21 project partners including BT, Telefonica and Nokia Bell labs.

Zeetta Networks’ role in the project

Zeetta Networks is providing edge SDN control, through NetOS®, for Metrohaul focusing on 5G enhanced Metro Networks.

NetOS® provides an SDN control plane solution to multiple network technologies – optical, packet and wireless.

As part of the 5G-METRO-HAUL project, NetOS will extend its capabilities to provide software for managing dis-aggregated optical devices – transponders and optical line switches.

NetOS is also used to dynamically scale networks in response to changes in demand in enterprise networks.
