Vassilis Seferidis, CEO of Zeetta Networks, has been elected to the Board of the Independent Networks Cooperative Association (INCA). This industry recognition of Vassilis’ personal contribution to INCA’s work is matched by Zeetta Networks’ leading expertise in the field.

●     Vassilis Seferidis has been appointed to INCA’s board following earlier contributions to the association’s work on defining business cases for network virtualization and slicing in the context of fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) networks.

●     This appointment is further industry recognition of the importance of Zeetta Networks’ open networking technology in achieving the vision of “Gigabit Britain”.

●     Zeetta Networks has been engaged with INCA throughout 2017 by actively participating to INCA’s events and working groups and will continue to do so in 2018 as part of INCA’s board.

Vassilis Seferidis, CEO of Zeetta Networks, has been elected to the Board of the Independent Networks Cooperative Association (INCA). This industry recognition of Vassilis’ personal contribution to INCA’s work is matched by Zeetta Networks’ leading expertise in developing and deploying network slicing and virtualization solutions across the UK and the rest of the world.

Vassilis’ appointment comes at a critical time as FTTP networks are desperately needed to support the growth of both fixed wireless and mobile wireless services. INCA advocates that only the deployment of pure fibre infrastructure, supporting vastly greater speeds, more symmetry upstream as well as down, and lower latency than copper or hybrid networks, will support the UK’s growing broadband needs.

To that effect, INCA is working closely with Zeetta Networks to define how network virtualization and slicing can accelerate the deployment of FTTP, and provide the connectivity British businesses and consumers need to ensure the UK remains digitally competitive.

CEO of Zeetta Networks, Vassilis Seferidis commented:

“Being elected the board of INCA is further recognition of the importance of Zeetta Networks’ technology for the independent FTTP networks as they try to aggregate and coordinate the emerging patchwork of regional and local networks in order to compete more efficiently at national level.

“I am pleased to offer our expertise to the INCA community and to actively participate in proof-of-concept projects and trials with other INCA members towards building Gigabit Britain”.

David Cullen, Chair of the Board at INCA, said:

“Vassilis’ support, both as a speaker and as a leader of the innovative SME Zeetta Networks, has been invaluable to INCA as we have highlighted the challenges and opportunities that 5G and full fibre networks present. We all look forward to his and Zeetta Networks’ contributions in 2018 and beyond as a trusted INCA Board member.”

After Vassilis was invited to speak at INCA’s June conference in London on “Software Defined Networks and Network Function Virtualisation”, Zeetta Networks and INCA have continued to work closely together to explore and highlight the advances in networking technology. From Zeetta Networks’ supporting INCA’s ‘Full Fibre & 5G’ event in September, to Vassilis speaking on a panel at INCA’s December event ‘Building Gigabit Britain’, the shared values and vision of a cohesive and interconnected network make Vassilis’ appointment onto the INCA board a natural choice
