Vassilis has more than 20 years’ experience in the Telecom and Consumer Electronics industry. Before starting Zeetta Networks, Vassilis was VP of Business Development for Samsung Electronics responsible for driving revenue growth and strategic development of Samsung’s Consumer Electronics business in Europe. Prior to Samsung, he held executive management positions at BT, Toshiba, Philips, QIO Systems and British Standards Institute. Vassilis holds a BSc and MSc from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, a PhD from Essex University, UK and an MBA from Cass Business School (University of London), UK. In 2011 Vassilis was included in the Euro50 list of the 50 most influential people in the broadband and telecommunications industries in Europe.
VP of Engineering
Nathan has extensive solution and systems engineering experience with over thirty years’ experience working in Fortune 100 companies and startups in telecommunications and finance. With 15 years in Cisco Systems developing network based software systems, leading SDN adoption and working with teams and customers across the world, Nathan brings a wealth of experience to all aspects of the Zeetta engineering mission.
Joan A Garcia Espín
Director of Product Management
Joan is experienced in telecommunications with strong focus on productization and delivery of novel networking technologies. With a MSc in Telematics Engineering in 2007 and his Master in Business Innovation in 2010, Joan has worked both in enterprise R&D and commercial environments, and been invited to collaborate on international projects such as Bristol Is Open (UK), Scytl (Spain), and i2CAT Foundation (Spain).
Mayur joined Zeetta Networks from the High Performance Networks Group (HPNG) at the University of Bristol. Before joining HPNG, he was working in IBM on Network Routing & Switching technologies. Since 2011, Mayur has been actively involved in several FP7 European ICT Projects related to SDN and OpenFlow including OFELIA, ALIEN, and FIBRE, and he has co-/authored numerous papers on optical SDN.
Crispin has spent 24 years developing networking, starting out with Token ring switching with Madge Networks, through GPRS and 3G at Lucent Technologies before settling on IP routing at Cisco where he worked on the core forwarding information base for IP (CEF) including adding support for IPv6. He now leads the Zeetta Networks software development team, from project management to strategic decision making.
VP of Sales & Marketing
Ian’s 25-years of international technology sales experience began at SAGEM Group in France. He then joined Alcatel Lucent and played a pivotal role in developing global account activity, also driving sales of telecommunications products and forging key senior relationships in the UK and Ireland for TE Connectivity. More recently he was responsible for EMEA at DragonWave Inc, a specialised IP microwave manufacturer.
Director of Marketing Communications
David has over 30 years experience within marketing communications. He has a BSc in Psychology and started his career in London with market research agency Harris Research, before relocating to Bristol to establish a Top-50 UK design and marketing consultancy, helping to develop and deploy communications strategies for Orange, 3, 118118, Computerworld and other telecoms and tech businesses.
Ashley qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst Young (1986) followed by 15 years establishing, growing and selling three businesses in the IT, FMCG and Manufacturing industries. He was then headhunted as CEO for a West Country B2C timber conservatory manufacturer, helping the business to sell successfully in 2004. He has been involved with IT start-ups in VoIP and social media, and was FD of a foreign currency exchange business which grew, became profitable and was subsequently sold.
Dimitra Simeonidou is a Full Professor at the University of Bristol, the Director of the Smart Internet Lab and Head of the High-Performance Networks Group (HPNG). Her research is focusing in the fields of high performance networks, programmable networks, wireless-optical convergence and smart city infrastructures. Dimitra has been the Technical Architect and the CTO of the smart city project, Bristol Is Open. She is currently leading Bristol’s 5G urban pilots. She is a Royal Society Wolfson scholar and is the author and co-author of over 400 publications, numerous patents and several major contributions to standards.
Reza is a co-founder of the company, VP of Advanced Technologies and an industry expert in SDN and NFV. He is a full Professor at the University of Bristol and leads internationally-recognised research on programmable telecom infrastructure in the renowned High Performance Networks Research Group. He has been instrumental in defining the company’s technology strategy and strategic partnerships. Whilst attracting significant venture capital investment for the company, he has also built the development and engineering teams for the company. As an academic he has written or co-authored over 300 peer reviewed papers and several standardisation documents. In 2016 he was the recipient of the Charles Kao award in recognition of his pioneering work on SDN for optical transport networks. He is a research associate in ONF and currently involved in several UK EPSRC and European-funded (Horizon2020) research projects.
Dan brings extensive experience in networking, telecoms and other areas of IT and engineering to Zeetta Networks. His track record of translating technical innovations into business successes spans companies large and small as well as academic roles, and includes his leading the SDN movement as executive director of ONF from its launch in 2011 until the end of 2016. He is proud to have spent so much time in Bristol over the years that he can no longer donate blood in the U.S.
Oliver is a telecoms expert with 20 years’ experience in the wireless industry. His broad skillset includes the technical and commercial aspects of network planning and rollout as well as specialist solutions for the venue, enterprise and transport market. He leads teams in the UK, France, Switzerland, Africa and the Caribbean, ranging from engineering and product management to operations, in both start-up and large enterprises, and has developed strategies, policies and processes to drive business growth. Recent projects and studies include Wembley Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur, DCMS, HS1, HS2, European Commission (H2020) and Network Rail Telecoms.
